Walking Humbly
Week 1 – Day 6
Story
Grace had spent years trying to be dependable, helpful, and strong. People admired her, and she often found herself stepping into roles where she could solve problems and keep things moving. But over time, she noticed how easily admiration could feed pride. She wanted to serve God, but she also liked being seen as indispensable.
During a quiet prayer time, she sensed the Lord inviting her to stop performing and start walking more simply with Him. She realized that humility was not weakness. It was freedom from the need to prove herself. By choosing to listen, serve, and obey without needing applause, she discovered a deeper joy than recognition could ever give.
Scripture
“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8)
Application
Humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less. When your life is centered on God, you no longer need to compete for attention or control every outcome.
Walking humbly means staying close enough to God to be led, corrected, and strengthened by Him. It is a daily posture of trust, not a one-time accomplishment.
Daily Challenge
Do one hidden act of service today without telling anyone. Ask God to help you walk humbly with Him in both public and private moments.
Prayer: Lord, teach me to walk humbly with You and to serve without seeking praise. Amen.
