Rooted in God’s Word
Week 1 – Day 4
Story
Daniel had built his life around staying busy, but he was beginning to feel spiritually dry. He could talk about faith, attend church, and serve when asked, yet he rarely made time to sit quietly with God’s Word. When pressure came, he noticed that his reactions were shaped more by stress than by truth.
One evening, after a difficult conversation left him unsettled, he opened his Bible and read slowly instead of rushing through it. The simplicity of that moment surprised him. He realized that God’s Word was not just something to read for information, but something that could steady his heart and reshape his mind. Bit by bit, he began returning to Scripture each day, and the roots of his faith grew deeper.
Scripture
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked… but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.” (Psalm 1:1–2)
Application
A life rooted in God’s Word is not built in a hurry. It grows through repeated contact with truth. When you spend time in Scripture, you are not just learning facts; you are learning how to see your life through God’s eyes.
The more your mind is shaped by God’s truth, the less likely you are to be carried away by fear, noise, or pressure. Scripture becomes the place where your thoughts settle and your heart becomes steady again.
Daily Challenge
Read Psalm 1 slowly today. Write down one phrase that stands out to you, and ask God how to live it out.
Prayer: Lord, root me in Your Word and help me delight in it each day. Amen.
